The 11th Grzegorz Fitelberg International Conducting Competition
The Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors is one of the most prestigious performance competitions in Poland, since 1982 belonging to the World Federation of International Music Competition in Geneva. It is addressed to artists younger than 39. Its renown and the prestige associated with winning any place on the podium open a path to a world carrier for young conductors.
The 11th Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors will be held in the Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Silesian Philharmonic (Katowice, Poland) from 17 to 26 November 2023.
Applications: October 1st 2022 – July 15th 2023
Awards
The total prize pool is above 67,000 euros. The laureates will be also invited to conduct over 30 orchestras from around the world.

Jury
Since its very beginnings, the Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors has been attracting distinguished personalities. The group of the most renowned artists: conductors, instrumentalists, and artistic managers will be sitting in this year’s Competition Jury.

- The list of qualified candidates will be published by the 15th of August

- The application should contain:
- a photocopy of an official document confirming the Candidate’s date of birth
- an up-to-date portrait photograph in a digital version
- photocopies of documents confirming the fact of conducting artistic activities covering a period of not more than the last four years
- links (unlimited in terms of the number of active hits) to a 15-minute-long audio-visual recording of a rehearsal or a concert with an orchestra, conducted by the candidate
- confirmation of payment of the registration fee with the title: “First name and surname – XI MKD”
- a photocopy of an official document confirming the Candidate’s date of birth
